Published one year after the first edition. -- PECHLIN, Johann Nicolai. De purgantium medicamentorum facultatibus exercitatio nova. Leiden and Amsterdam: Abraham Daniel and Adrian á Gaasbeek, 1672. 8o. Engraved additional title, 4 engraved folding plates, 3 folding tables (one table torn and repaired). Contemporary calf (spine ends repaired. FIRST EDITION. -- RUEFF, Jacob. De conceptu et generatione hominis. Zurich: Christoph Froschauer, 1554. 4o. Full-page woodcut on title verso showing a birthing room, 65 other woodcut illustrations, 7 of them full-page, of reproductive organs, surgical instruments, birth deformities, etc. (C1 and C4 supplied in facsimile, some dampstaining, mostly marginal.) Contemporary limp vellum. Provenance: Early owner's signature on title (erased). FIRST EDITION IN LATIN (an edition in German was published by Froschauer in Zurich the same year), translated by Wolfgang Haller. -- VESLINGIUS, Johann. Syntagma anatomicum. Padua: Pauli Frambotti, 1651. 4o. Engraved title depicting the anatomical theater at Padua and 24 engraved plates by Giovanni Georgi. Contemporary vellum (some minor wear and soiling). Second illustrated edition. -- WECKER, Johann Jakob. Medicinae utriusque syntaxes, ex Graecorum, Latinorum, Arabumque thesauris. Basel: Heirs of Eusebius and Nikolaus Episcopius, 1576. 2o. (Some light browning to text, last leaf repaired at upper corner not affecting text.) Contemporary vellum, stamped in black on upper cover, edges stained red (corners bumped, small piece of paper pasted to spine). Later edition. -- WINSLOW, Jacques Benigne.
