    Macmiadhachain was born in Downpatrick, Ireland and studied at Belfast College of Art (1944-8); National College of Art, Dublin (1948-9) and the Academy of Art, Krakow, Poland (1960-1). He has shown at the R.A., R.H.A., R.U.A. and R.W.S. and his work is represented in public collections such as the Tate Gallery, London and The Arts Council of Ireland.
