Reference 3923 in steel was made upon special request exclusively for Japanese retailer Isshin Dokei Co. Ltd., Tokyo, to commemorate Patek Philippe's 150th anniversary in 1989.

Together with lot 245 in Christie's Geneva Important Watches auction on 17th November 2008, the present watch has never appeared at auction and will therefore be the second reference 3923 in stainless steel to appear in public to date.

Reference 3923 was launched in 1986 and discontinued in 1999. The model belongs to the Calatrava family. The standard production was available in yellow and pink gold case.
