The reference 5980/1A is the largest and arguably the most sporting Nautilus model to date. At the heart is the new self-winding automatic column-wheel chronograph movement, calibre 28-520 C, featuring a sweep centre seconds/chronograph hand with flyback function. The unusual monocounter subdial indicates elapsed time on two concentric scales graduated from 0 to 30 and from 30 to 60, with the central section being calibrated as a 12-hour counter. Another feature is the improved instantaneous jumping-date calendar which is based on a Patek Philippe patent of 1991.
