    The saint riding a white horse, wearing a lamellar cuirass, military boots and a floating cape, the red reins of the horse matching the colour of the saint's spear, the latter being plunged into the bleeding mouth of the winged serpent, at the far right the rescued Princess Elisaba standing at the gate of the city-walls, the event taking place at a rocky landscape with sparse vegetation and a pond in the foreground, against a green background, painted delicately with earth colours, the garments decorated with gold, set in a silver riza, the borders with inserted filligree panels and hardstone bosses, the halo inset with amethyst and acquamarine
