NIKITAS VANQUISHES THE DEMON RUSSIAN, 18TH CENTURY The saint in prison, seated on a backless stool with footrest, wearing a short chiton and matching green boots, complimented by a cinnabar cape, raising a sword with his right hand, grabbing the demon by the hair and trampling on him, the latter shown like a winged creature, a human-like head substitutes his lower stomach area, painted with saturated colours, against a dark background, including a green construction 12¼ x 10¼ in. (31.3 x 25 cm)
