    In a Deisis, the Mother of God standing on a suppedaneum, leaning on her left leg, presenting Christ, fontal, both hands raised in benediction, Mother and Son gazing at the beholder, to the left St. John the Forerunner with dishevelled hair, wearing the raiment of skins, an himation and sandals, pointing to the Child and holding a scroll (John 1:29), next to him St. Nicholas, dressed in full Episcopal vestments, holding a bejewelled Gospel Book in his veiled hands; to the right the Apostle Andrew, his hand gesturing in speech, displaying a scroll (John 1:41), beside him the youthful St. George with curly hair, wearing a knee-length tunic, a red cape with gold details and boots; the faces rendered with mild brown and pink tones, delicate white highlights defining their features, the volume of the figures, masterly rendered through the angular style of the garment folds, against a gold and light green background
