    The supreme Apostles turning towards each other, jointly supporting a model of a circular Church - a reference to the attempts made during the Council of Ferrara-Florence to unite the Eastern and Western Churches (1438-39); St. Peter holding a scroll and St. Paul a book, with Christ emerging from the sky above; the composition against a gold background, set in a later molded gesso frame
