    The face of Christ modelled realistically, the bright shades of his flesh contrasting with his dark locks suggesting the light emanating from Him; the elaborate oklad consisting of a background plate engraved with recurring scrolls, a second silver sheet of undulating form applied to emulate the folds of the cloth, tooled with gilt flowers, its upper corners tied in knots, its border in cloisonné enamel; lastly, a tripartite halo of stylised flower-heads and scrolls, the inscription in translucent red
