    19th century
    The first of a boy wearing a shishimai headdress, partly lacquered and inlaid with mother-of-pearl, signed on an oval green coloured reserve Hoshi; the second a study of three aubergines of varying sizes, clustered together to form an irregular compact composition, partly lacquered and inlaid with mother-of-pearl or coloured horn, signed Naomasa; the third a manju-netsuke inlaid with mother-of-pearl depicting some of the takaramono including the magic mallet and wish-granting gems, signed on an oval mother-of-pearl reserve Shoji; the fourth an erotic netsuke in shibayama-style depicting a kissing couple in wide robes laying on the floor, in front of them a small toy cat; the fifth of a fisherman kneeling on a large awabi-shell hunting a crab with a long spear, signed on a oval red lacquer reserve Gyokuzan
