Lance-Corporal Edwin Frank Latter, who was from Leeds, Maidstone, Kent and saw active service with the 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment, died in the U.K. on 26.2.1919, while serving with the 680th Agricultural Company, Labour Corps. Aged 29 years, he was buried in Leeds (St. Nicholas) Churchyard, Kent.
Private John Latter, a brother of the above, died of wounds in France on 19.4.1918, while serving with the 1/4th Battalion, King's Shropshire Regiment. He had previously served with the 3/6th Sherwood Foresters. Aged 37 years, he was buried in the Denain Communal Cemetery.
Private Arthur James Latter, a brother of the above, was killed in action on the Somme on 1.10.1916, while serving with the 1/20th (Blackheath and Woolwich) Battalion, London Regiment. Assigned to an attack on Eaucourt l'Abbaye, the Battalion took casualties while awaiting the arrival of supporting tanks. Latter had previously served with the Royal West Kent Regiment. Aged 18 years, he was buried in the Warlencourt British Cemetery.
