    MING DYNASTY AND LATER

    The first finely modelled in openwork to depict a sinuous chi dragon, its elongated body contorted into an S-shaped curve with the head turned looking toward its hind legs, resting one side of its head on a bi-furcated tail, the stone of opaque white tone, Ming dynasty; the second, carved in the round to depict a monkey, its legs tucked into the body, head turned to one side, holding a long spray of lingzhi fungus over one shoulder, the stone of russet tone with yellow inclusions
