EDO PERIOD (18TH-19TH CENTURY)
The first decorated with an uchiwa [fan] in gold and silver lacquer and inlays of mother-of-pearl and stone; the other decorated in gold high relief lacquer with mandarin ducks amongst rocks and waves, the interior with mitsu-tomoe mon against a nashiji [sprinkled gold lacquer] ground
