    ONE MEIJI PERIOD, LATE 19TH CENTURY, THE OTHER TAISHO PERIOD, EARLY 20TH CENTURY
    The first decorated in various lacquer techniques including gold and silver hiramaki-e, takamaki-e, togidashi, kirikane and kinpun with a pair of geese amongst autumn grasses on a riverbank against a black ground; the second decorated in black and coloured lacquer and inlaid in cut shell with a large eagle above tempestuous waves, mounted on a red-lacquered panel
