Each variantly painted with rebus puzzles, purple bands and further flowering swags and scrollwork, the sides with either braziers or vases, gilt line rims

Lot Essay

There are two rebuses on each cup and three on each saucer. Translations of all but three (one on the cup on the left and two on the saucer at the right) are available as part of the condition report.
Marie Noualhier and Jeanne-Josèphine Roguier are recorded as a painters of flowers and patterns at Sèvres from 1762-98 and 1782-93, respectively.
