Half title, printed in red and black, EXTRA-ILLUSTRATED with 31 original watercolour illustrations, 3 ink drawings, and 15 decorated initials (very lightly browned, occasional spots, stitching weak at beginning). Original pictorial cloth, decorated in blue and gilt, top edges gilt, others uncut (rubbed and lightly soiled). Provenance: Winifred Brebner (ownership inscription on endpaper) -- "Illustrations are all hand painted by a friend" (written below signature) -- short quotation of a poem by Tennyson in manuscript on title.
