Lot Essay

We are grateful to Dr. Bernadette van Haute for confirming the attribution on the basis of a photograph (written communication, 10 September 2007). She dates the picture to the late 1650s and compares it to a farm scene by Ryckaert in Huis Osterrieth, Antwerp.
