Lot Essay

From a family of sculptors, Mathurin Moreau enrolled at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in 1841, where he was a pupil of Dumont. He exhibited at the Salon from 1848 onwards. His bronzes include numerous classical and allegorical figures and groups.
