AN EARLY 19TH CENTURY SWISS GOLD AND ENAMEL MUSICAL WATCH KEY
In the form of a miniature oval box decorated on one side with a central oval painted Swiss enamel depicting a winged putti in a floral garden within twin engraved and enamel stylised cornucopia each with entwined serpent, to a blue enamel scalloped border, the reverse with central painted Swiss enamel depicting sprigs of cornflower to an engraved and foliate enamel surround and pale blue enamel candy twist border, with four matching chased and engraved mythical beast surmounts supporting the central key barrel the musical mechanism operated by the pendant with sliding stop button to the side, circa 1820, 6.0cm
