Lot Essay

Accompanied by a Jaeger-LeCoultre Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch in 1969.

The present watch is an extremely unusual and rare automatic “Jumbo Memovox” with a blue lacquered dial that resembles lapis lazuli.

Very few, perhaps less than ten, of these watches are known to the market. These Jumbo Memovox models have strong contemporary followings due to their relatively large and thick size, as well as the fact that they have an automatic movement. This particular example possesses great visual interest and power due to the dial in combination with the unpolished and large case as well as original JL-signed crowns.
