Art as Jewellery

9 – 16 November 2017
Consign by 1 September 2017

This November, Christie’s will hold our second Art as Jewellery online sale, featuring a wide range of extraordinary gold, silver and bejewelled pieces created by some of the most important artistic figures of the 20th Century and today.

Bringing artistic insights into the realm of the everyday and transgressing the notion of the untouchable art object, the medium of jewellery provides new formal possibilities for many artists in designing wearable artworks, democratised yet precious entities including some of their best-known themes and motifs.

Current highlights include a Man Ray Occulist brooch and works in gold and silver by Pablo Picasso, Roy Lichtenstein, Yves Klein, Georges Braque and Bernard Buffet.
