Mapping the Globe

1 – 10 November 2016

This November Christie’s presents its inaugural online cartography auction. Featuring rare maps and globes from the 16th century to the modern, this sale charts the history of exploration and voyages throughout the ages of discovery and enlightenment. See the past plotted onto the flat chart or round globe in beautiful maps illustrated with sea monsters, and on Georgian pocket globes lined with star charts of the night sky. This sale presents exciting opportunities for the seasoned collector or decorator to acquire a beautiful piece of cartographic history.

Highlights from the sale will be on view at Christie’s South Kensington from 15-18 October, and at the Christie’s Late on 1 November.
