François-Paul Journe (born in Marseille in 1967) graduated from the Paris School of Watchmaking in 1976 and immediately joined forces with his uncle, a noted restorer of antique timepieces. Before creating his own complete line of wristwatches, Journe restored some of the world's most important historical timepieces, devised and built unique pocket watches to order, and designed and made complications for prestigious watch brands.
In 1996, Journe established a workshop in Geneva, designing and making watch mechanisms for other brands. Three years later, in 1999, he launched his own watches under the label "F.P. Journe Invenit et Fecit".
The Chronomètre à Résonance model was launched in 2000, the only wristwatch in the world based on resonance, a natural physical phenomenon. The two balances are synchronized by means of the resonance effect and naturally beat alternately. The negative effects of wrist and body movements are hence considerably reduced.
This special edition watch, named “Challenger of Record” was produced in a limited edition of 32 pieces in 18k pink gold. It was dedicated to the Golden Gate Yacht Club, current holder of the America's Cup won by its racing team Oracle Team USA., and is equipped with the sophisticated flying tourbillon housed in a thick 20.96mm case which is water-resistant to 1000 meters. The complexity of the movement makes this watch one of the most exceptional horological masterpieces ever made and at the same time one of the most efficient diver’s watches in existence.
This impressive world-time watch houses the caliber 77F0 which has approximately 55 hours of power reserve. To be able to see the automatic movement through the sapphire crystal case back is an added bonus, showcasing an attractive pink gold rotor with guilloche engraving. When looking at the dial, it is no less spectacular. With classic Breguet looks it is a modern marvel for the experienced traveler. By pressing the pusher at 8 o’clock, the time zone instantly changes between two time zones and AM/PM changes are tracked accordingly.
The iconic Rolex Datejust model is offered here with an unusual material and design configuration. Using an adorned fully set diamond dial, ruby-set bezel and bracelet with diamond decoration throughout makes this watch an unforgettable sight. Its good looks are not overpowering in its modest 34mm diameter case, offering an elegant alternative to the sometimes large and obtuse counterparts. Offered in pristine condition with Rolex guarantee.
With an in-house movement produced by Hublot, the classic fusion tourbillon model is a large and impressive watch, made even more desirable by its attractive baguette diamond bezel. The bezel stands out against the 18k pink gold case but also against the skeletonized dial. The result is a sporty, yet elegant timepiece, worthy of any occasion and an asset to one’s collection. Offered here in its sealed bag mint and complete.
