Valuations, London
The Valuations Department handles formal multi-category valuations for sale, insurance, taxation and other purposes. The valuations are completed by a fourteen-member team of general valuers and valuation managers, in conjunction with Christie's departmental specialists.

Queries handled relate to:

Fees
Christie's valuation fees are highly competitive and based on a flat hourly or daily rate per specialist, with VAT and out of pocket expenses charged in addition. We will be pleased to quote specific costs after discussing the scope and nature of the proposed work.

If a client requires an image-based valuation, an additional fee will be charged. For properties consigned to Christie's within one year of a valuation the fee is rebated on a pro-rata basis.

Insurance
Christie's provides authoritative Insurance valuations of the highest standard for fine and applied arts, through to the collecting categories. If required, we are able to offer a highly efficient service taking into account a client's requirements alongside the requirements that are frequently stipulated by insurers. From the initial enquiry to the finalized document Christie's will provide a single contact to guide the client through the valuation process. If required, we are able to provide thumbnail images alongside descriptions in our valuations.

Removal & Storage
Christie's representatives are prepared to make the arrangements related to quotes for packing and shipping, and oversee the removal of property to appropriate sale locations. We provide complimentary storage for all property awaiting sale.

Sale
Christie's are able to react swiftly to prospective sale valuations, whether for a few works of art in differing categories, a large collection or the contents of a house. We also advise how best to sell the works to achieve the highest returns.

The process is overseen by a single contact for each client who will handle the valuation from its initiation to its completion.
