Mark of Napier, Meriden, Connecticut, 20th century
in the form of a penguin, with a footed base, detachable cover, the beak opening as a spout with a cork closure, marked under base. Engraved on the body with the letter "B".

Lot Essay

The Napier Company was started by E.A. Bliss and J.E. Carpenter in 1875 in Meriden under the name Carpenter & Bliss and underwent several name changes before becoming the Napier Company in 1922.
