Nicolini da Sabbio for Damanio di Santa Maria, 1545. 2°, printed in red and black, woodcut device on title, woodcut byzantine headpieces and initials (lacking a2, o4-5, r4, z1-5 and ?A5-6, title with holes in device and mounted, numerous leaves rehinged, headpiece on a3 cut away, soiling and staining, numerous repairs, occasionally with slight loss, wear to A4v with slight loss), contemporary blind-stamped doeskin stained red over wooden boards, panelled with outer border of acron-flower-pomegranate roll, crucifix at centre of upper cover, Madonna and child on lower (worn, front hinge splitting, lacking 2 clasps). Provenance: early inscription, numerous pen trials, including sketch of a man's head; Greek inscription on verso of title, dated 1887; Greek library stamp and cancellation. FIRST EDITION.
