PROPERTY FROM THE ESTATE OF HILDA HENSLEY, PATSY CLINE'S MOTHER
The following sixteen lots of clothing and accessories were all owned and worn by country music legend, Patsy Cline. After her tragic death in a 1963 plane crash at the young age of 30, Patsy's personal effects went to her mother, Hilda Hensley. Ms. Hensley had acted as her daughter's talent scout, personal seamstress (creating many of the classic western costumes Patsy wore on stage) and confidant during Patsy's short life. She treasured these articles of clothing worn by her daughter and to preserve Patsy's legacy, she loaned many of them to The Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee where they were on display for a number of years. Christie's is proud to offer this collection of clothing worn by the talented Ms. Cline whose hits such as 'Walking After Midnight,' 'Crazy' and 'I Fall To Pieces' have transcended the country music genre and are now classic American songs that need no categorization.
