The Impressionist/Modern & Picasso Ceramics sale at Christie’s South Kensington offers a wide range of paintings, drawings and sculpture as well as tapestries by important artists of the 19th and 20th Century. Leading the sale is Naïve artist Camille Bombois’ Avant de paraítre, as well as Bernard Buffet’s still-life, Pain et oeufs sur le plat. The sale includes a highly anticipated section of 71 unique and editioned ceramics by Pablo Picasso. Highlights include exceptional ceramics from very small editions: Oiseaux et Poissons, a ceramic vase conceived in 1955 and executed in a numbered edition of 25, and the terracotta plaque, Grande tête de femme au chapeau orné, conceived in 1964 in a numbered edition of 50.
