On 20 November, Christie's London Post-War & Contemporary Art department will launch ‘90s to NOW’, a new concept of sale dedicated to art created from 1990 to the present. Featuring more than 170 works of art, ‘90s to NOW’ will showcase the radical themes, approaches, and practices emerging from a variety of new artists across the globe over the last two decades. With prices ranging from under £1,000 up to £15,000, this auction is designed to be accessible to all kinds of collectors, whether they are looking for a first piece or aiming to add that missing element to a well-established collection.

The ambitions of young artists working with a myriad of materials, methods and scales have grown to match this new international platform. The novel concept, ‘90s to Now’, celebrates these transformations, representing the heart and soul of the global art scene since 1990, whether articulated in painting, sculpture, photography, video art or installation”.
The carefully curated auction includes key British figures from the 90s period, well known characters such as Sarah Lucas and Gary Hume, alongside less familiar but equally influential names, such as Adam Chodzko and Alex Landrum, who showed with Damien Hirst in his first exhibition at the Saatchi Gallery in 1992.
‘90s to Now’ also reunites the Chapman Brothers with their favourite colleague and contemporary, David Falconer, as well as Jason Brooks and Stephan Gontarski. Turner Prize nominees abound. Throughout the sale, there are works by Richard Wright, Fiona Banner, Chris Ofili and Lucy Skaer, many of whom have featured in major institutions from the Saatchi Gallery and Tate Galleries to the Royal Academy and ICA.
Key works by New Yorkers Raymond Pettibon, David Hammons, Kara Walker and Matthew Brannon take prominent position as we also welcome a stable of artists brand new to the auction scene including James White.
A specially curated section will celebrate the contemporary painting of Mari Eastman and Dee Ferris: painterly landscapes bordering on abstraction and nostalgic appropriations of kitsch subjects.
The sale’s catalogue features a number of totally unpublished interviews with contemporary personalities and top collectors, including Kim Jones (Louis Vuitton menswear style director), Hamish Bowles (international editor at large, Vogue), Gordon Watson (20th century design expert and star of Channel 4’s show ‘Four Rooms’), Russell Tovey (Actor) and Princess Julia (DJ).
