New York – On April 1-2, Christie’s New York Interiors auction will feature exceptional offerings from Joan Rivers’s former country home in Connecticut. Cultivated by the legendary comedian and television personality, this collection boasts great examples of furniture, fine art, and decorative objects. Highlighted by a modern tester bed upholstered in pink linen (pictured top right; estimate: $2,000 – 3,000), Ms. Rivers’s collection includes over 150 items and offers the public what she describes as, “the ultimate country house.”

“This home was filled with some of the treasures of my life. The items offered in Christie’s Interiors auction range from very personal pieces designed by friends and renowned furniture makers such as Thomas Messel to keepsakes that I discovered on the road while travelling for concerts. My family and I shared only the happiest moments in this home and I hope my possessions bring the new owners equal happiness and joy,” said Joan Rivers. “Christie’s is thrilled to have been entrusted with the property from Ms. Rivers’s Connecticut home. We look forward to offering this exciting collection, representative of Ms. Rivers’s discerning collector’s eye, in our April Interiors auction,” added Helen Williams, Head of Interiors.
