Anna Evans, Director & Specialist Head of European Works of Art, commented:The beautifully presented view for this exciting new sale at Christie’s South Kensington attracted wide interest in the pre-sale exhibition, with UK and intentional clients then bidding in the room, on the telephone and via Christie’s LIVETM. We are particularly pleased with the results of the Nick Gifford-Mead collection, the strong performance of which is testament to his exceptional eye and taste. The fine collection of lighting from Luton Hoo mansion in Bedfordshire provided the top lot of the sale, an impressive pair of French thirty-light chandeliers designed by George Hoentschel, which achieved £116,500 and was sold via Christie’s LIVETM.”

Christie's is also recognised as a reference for prestigious single owner collections, having auctioned 8 of the 10 most important collections in history.
