Geneva - The 7th edition of the renowned biennial charity-auction ONLY WATCH begins its ten-leg world tour at the Monaco Yacht Show on 27 September. This exceptional fundraising endeavour - to drive research into Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) - culminates on 11 November in Geneva, on the occasion of the watch auction week when Christie’s will offer the 50 lots to bidders.

Since its start in 2005, ONLY WATCH has become the de facto platform for the world’s most talked about watchmakers to unite in the pursuit of a common cause: to increase funding for research into Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD).
ONLY WATCH 2017 offers a fantastic opportunity to view, bid and own a truly unique timepiece especially created for this occasion. Promotional World Tour exhibition starting at the Monaco Yacht Show
With the great support of generous partners and ahead of the auction in November, the 52 one-off models (offered as 50 lots) will embark on a six-week promotional world tour that includes stops in Asia, the Middle East, the United States and Europe.
The Monaco Yacht Show, the world's greatest superyachting event, provides the appropriate setting to unveil and host the first stage of the tour from 27 to 30 September. The tour dates are as follows: Monaco 27-30 Sept / Bangkok 02-03 Oct / Singapore 05-06 Oct / Dubai 09-11 Oct / Istanbul 18-19 Oct / Hong Kong 23-24 Oct / Taipei 26-27 Oct / New York 29-30 Oct / Los Angeles 01-02 Nov / Geneva 09-11 Nov (free access to all exhibitions).
ONLY WATCH 2017 culminates with the charity auction in Geneva on November 11 at 2.30pm (UTC+1) at the Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues. Hosted and led by Christie's Watches & Wristwatches Department, this sale will attract international watch connoisseurs to bid in person, via the internet or by phone. A Special Thank You to all who will be supporting this year’s event.
All proceeds of the auction will be donated to support research on Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, helping to develop a cure.

Adding to the excitement will be a first-time experiential aspect. More than half of the watch brands have combined a unique experience to their stunning timepiece: opportunities to visit some of the world's leading manufactures or share a private lunch/dinner with some of the watch industry’s key players. Expanding beyond the watch industry, a selection of these experiences include: meet and greet with athletic champions, race car drivers, free diving record holders, dining in unique private romantic/historic locations, access to exclusive fashion shows, become a VIP guest at art fairs, yacht shows and charity galas, and walking the red carpet at prestigious film festivals.

Collaborations in between brands/watchmakers, or between brands and ambassadors, a media partner, or an artist, represents a key evolution of Only Watch in 2017.
About L’Association Monégasque contre les Myopathies
L’Association Monégasque contre les Myopathies (Monaco Association against Muscular Dystrophies) dedicates 100 percent of its funding and resources to international research. DMD is a rapidly progressive form of muscular dystrophy that occurs primarily in boys and affects approximately 1 in 3500 male at birth worldwide. Symptoms, which include a decline in muscle strength, usually appear between the age of 4 and 6 years and most boys are confined to a wheelchair by the age of 12. Few individuals with DMD live beyond their 30s.
AMM’s mission has been to create, foster and heavily fund strong partnerships between different, sometimes competing, international research centres. This collaborative network of multidisciplinary laboratories shares a common goal: the treatment of severe neuromuscular diseases in general, and Duchenne muscular dystrophy in particular.
