Results — Christie’s First Open | Online sale (April 30 – May 15), totaled $1,668,625, with 80% sold by lot and 100% sold by value.
The sale was led by Josef Albers, Study to Homage to the Square: Bronzed, which achieved $495,000, against a low estimate of $200,000. Other notable results included Andy Warhol, Chris Evert, which realized $106,250, against a low estimate of $30,000; and Philip Pearlstein, Nude and New York, which sold for $68,750, against a low estimate of $30,000. Additionally, Carrie Mae Weems, Change Requires 2020 Vision, sold for $25,000 and proceeds from the sale will support the Center for Refugee Services and their partner arts collective House of Trees, both located in San Antonio, Texas.
