Christie’s is pleased to present a thrilling auction featuring, among other superb collections, an exceptional single-owner offering of Domaine Armand Rousseau, one of Burgundy’s most revered domaines and the benchmark for Gevrey‑Chambertin. Distinguished by impeccable provenance and remarkable depth across the 1990s and 2000s, this collection represents a golden era for the estate, when precision in viticulture and élevage produced wines of extraordinary purity, finesse and longevity.
The legendary climats, Chambertin, Chambertin Clos de Bèze, Clos St Jacques, Ruchottes‑Chambertin and others, appear here with both breadth and maturity, each a testament to Rousseau’s enduring legacy.
Christie’s Wine Department is also delighted to offer a curated selection of mature wines from the renowned cellar of Ian Mill KC, one of the UK’s most discerning collectors. Spanning four decades, this jewel‑box collection reflects meticulous curation and a deep appreciation of Burgundy’s finest domaines. Highlights include benchmark vintages — 1978, 1985 and 1993—from luminaries such as Armand Rousseau, Georges Roumier and Denis Bachelet.
The white wine selection features exemplary bottles from 1985, 1986 and 1992, showcasing the tension and depth characteristic of masters such as Comtes Lafon, Coche‑Dury, and Domaine Leflaive.
Rounding out the sale is a focused selection of mature Rioja, several classic Bordeaux collections, and a selection of rare spirits.
