Christie’s presents a superb range of wines in our London auction.
The sale is led by Champagne Treasures from an esteemed collection of rare and sought-after Champagnes. Veuve Clicquot from 1920, Pol Roger from 1926, Heidsieck from 1928 and Bollinger from 1947 lead the selection of rarities, offered in halves, bottles and magnums.
A London Cellar and A Hedonist’s Cellar helm an offering of Bordeaux, Burgundy and other Italian vinous treasures. The 1928 Château Latour features alongside Château Lafite-Rothschild 1953. A wonderful assortment of Coche-Dury is offered, with Domaine d'Auvenay, Domaine Armand Rousseau, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti and Clos de Tart (the latter in magnum from the 1978 vintage). Giacomo Conterno, Biondi-Santi, rare Marsala and Chartreuse also feature from these cellars.
The Classic Collection includes First Growths such as Châteaux Lafite,
Château Mouton-Rothschild and Château Margaux in bottles, double magnums, imperials, rare verticals and boxed releases. ‘Super Second’ Growths such as Château Cos d’Estournel and Château Léoville Las Cases continue into cases of Châteaux Pontet-Canet, Château La Mission Haut-Brion and Pavie. Château Pétrus, Le Pin, Châteaux Lafleur and La Conseillante are offered in bottle and large formats. The same cellar showcases Domaine Leflaive, Krug and Super Tuscans, before a superb selection of Napa rarities from Screaming Eagle, Dominus and Abreu.
Bordeaux is a highlight, with two further collections of strong back vintages from First Growths, Saint-Émilion and Pomerol. Notable lots include Château Latour 2009, a Château Palmer vertical and a Château Mouton 2012 double magnum.
A selection of Madeira from the island is also on offer, including bottles of H.M. Borges Terrantez 1760, H.M. Borges Sercial 1820 and H.M. Borges Canteiro Verdelho 1860. These are offered by members of the Borges family.
We are delighted to partner with the Decanter World Wine Awards for an offering of award-winning wines. These lots include wines from Champagne, Bordeaux, Burgundy, the Loire, Rhône, Italy, Spain, the United States and Port. The United Kingdom, Provence rosé and Madeira feature for the first time.
