The sale of Fine Chinese Furniture from Private American Collections realised HK$104,002,250 (US$13,489,092) with an overall sold rate of 87% by lot and 95% by value.  “With this sale from private American collections, Christie's delivered a well selected range of Chinese furniture, which met the growing demand for the category in Asia. Traditionally collected by Americans and in the West, the strong result of the sale confirmed Christie's strategic decision to present this collection in Hong Kong,” said Christopher Engle, Senior Specialist, Chinese Ceramics & Works of Art.
