Christie’s Design department in New York is hosting a season of four auctions with exciting works for both the established and up-and-coming collector alike.

A specially curated group of outstanding 20th century design including Marc Newson’s Lockheed lounge, an exceptional bookcase by Charlotte Perriand and architect Marcel Breuer’s personal desk launch our first Design Masterworks auction.

Two Art Deco single-owner collections will also be offered. An Important Private Collection of Art Deco Masterpieces is led by a pair of ‘Col de Cyne’ sconces by Armand Albert Rateau, an exceptionally rare and fine example never before seen at auction. Masterworks of 20th Century Decorative Art: An Important New York Private Collection showcases great designers from the 1920s and 1930s, including works by Armand Albert Rateau, Jean Dunand and Pierre Chareau.

Our Design sale concludes the season with works by leading figures of the design and art worlds, including Donald Judd, Alexander Calder, Jean Michel Frank and Pierre Jeanneret.

Friends of E.1027

  • OVERVIEW

    Friends of E.1027, a New York-based, non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds and awareness for the restoration and preservation of E.1027, the modernist villa designed and built between 1926 and 1929 by Eileen Gray in conjunction with Jean Badovici on the southern shore of France in Roquebrune-Cap Martin, will be holding a charity auction on December 16 at Christieʼs, New York. Lots include works by Richard Tuttle and Sol LeWit.
