December Watches

New York, 15–16 December 2015

With auctions and an online Watch Shop filled with some of the world's rarest watches, December at Christie's is a remarkable month for the most passionate watch collectors and those seeking to buy their first mechanical watch.

In honor of the anniversary of the famous Gemini IV spacewalk by astronaut Edward White in 1965, this season in New York brings OMEGA SPEEDMASTER 50: From a Spacewalk to Today, a thematic auction dedicated to the iconic Omega Speedmaster. The auction notably includes a Speedmaster used by astronaut Ron Evans during the Apollo 17 mission. The Rare Watches and Important Discoveries auction is the following day in New York and features a fine 193-lot selection of both vintage and modern timepieces, elaborate pocket watches and stunning clocks. Highlights include a possibly unique Patek Philippe with pearl hour markers originally given by the Emir of Bahrain, a Rolex with a vibrant cloisonné enamel dial, two exceptional vintage watches from Audemars Piguet, and four watches worn on the hit television show Mad Men.

In addition, Christie's Watch Shop has an online Holiday Sale featuring over 50 remarkable watches offered at fixed prices with free shipping.
