Americana at Christie’s New York combines sales from American Art, Important American Furniture, Silver, Outsider and Folk Art and The Private Collection of President and Mrs. Ronald Reagan. Pioneered by the online sale of American Art, the week of auctions continues at Rockefeller Center. Highlights include a sword owned by Benjamin Franklin, Tiffany & Co. and Gorham silver, a sculpture from William Edmondson and two pieces by self-taught artist Sam Doyle. The standout Reagan auction celebrates the legacy of the iconic former President while encapsulating the patriotic spirit and rich history of the nation. Viewings begin 17 September.
The exhibition is supported by The Wall Street Journal.
