This September, Christie’s presents two sales of interiors decorated by the visionary designer Michael S. Smith. One of America’s most lauded tastemakers, the auctions will offer decorative and fine art from private residences in London, New York and Los Angeles that epitomise Smith’s aesthetic – a seamless blend of English country house, European style and American modernism.

The two auctions showcase the breadth of Smith’s curatorial eye in creating distinct environments, comprising Old Masters, 19th century and Impressionist paintings, modern British and post-war and contemporary art, as well as English and European furniture, 20th century design, Islamic and Asian works of art and antiquities.
