This March, highlights from the Collection of Peggy and David Rockefeller will be on view at Christie’s Paris. Exceptional examples by Gauguin, Picasso and Manet will be on display alongside viewings of our Parisian sales.
We are delighted to offer four important auctions across several categories from 21 to 23 March in Paris. The Dessins anciens et du XIXème siècle sale unveils forgotten treasures from the collection of Comte Arnault Doria, while a selection of works on paper by prominent artists from Gauguin to Zao Wou-Ki will be offered in our Œuvres modernes sur papier auction. Elsewhere, two sales will be dedicated to modern and Impressionist art, including the single-owner private collection sale Hommage à la famille Hessel : Mécènes et Modèles featuring paintings by Édouard Vuillard, Pierre Bonnard and Maurice Denis. Our Art impressionniste et moderne auction will conclude this series of sales offering a wide range of masterpieces, including an 1877 Alfred Sisley river scene of Bougival as well as two iconic bronze sculptures by Auguste Rodin cast during the artist’s lifetime sculpture The Kiss and The Eternal Spring.
2017 Drawing Now award Laureate Lionel Sabatté will also join us during this exciting week of sales and events at Christie’s Paris with his exhibition Éloge de la metamorphose, on view from 16 to 23 March.
