This December, Christie’s Design Department is proud to present a suite of live auctions in New York. The whimsical La Ménagerie sale during 20th Century Week meets the single-owner sale of Important Tiffany from the Collection of Mary M. and Robert M. Montgomery, Jr., and the various owner sale that features important works from the 20th and 21st century’s leading innovators of French Art Deco, American Craft, Danish Modernism and Austrian Wiener Werkstätte.
Highlights include a survey of rare objects and designs by Isamu Noguchi; compelling pieces executed by exceptional architects such as Marcel Breuer, Jean Prouvé, Frank Lloyd Wright and Donald Judd; an important dining table and set of ten chairs by Wendell Castle — from a special private commission; a dynamic group of works by Claude and François-Xavier Lalanne and an early and rare masterpiece by Eileen Gray.
