London · New York · Online | 9 November – 10 December
Luxury Week at Christie’s is the incomparable, the iconic, the one and only destination for jewels, handbags, watches and wines this holiday season. Extraordinary edits in New York and London are poised to take your collection to a cut above the rest.
From 17 November onwards, our King Street galleries in London offer an experience for the senses. Try on classic designs, including a smoky quartz and diamond bangle — the quintessential piece by Belperron, appreciate flawless craftsmanship, featuring an Hermès Kellywood and an 1890 Louis Vuitton zinc Explorer trunk, and sample lasting flavours, from historic Madeiras to a Springbank 50 Year Old 1919 — all presented over two online jewels and handbags auctions and a two-day live wine sale.
Across the Atlantic in New York, Christie’s presents four exciting live and online auctions from 23 November to 10 December. Exceptional designs from notable houses, including Bulgari, Cartier, Harry Winston, Tiffany & Co. and Van Cleef & Arpels, are featured alongside curated examples from distinguished private collections and historic jewels like a 17th century emerald bead rosary from the Saxon royal family. Further highlights include timeless watches from Patek Philippe and Rolex, a rare white Himalaya Birkin and collectible streetwear, accessories and sneakers, featuring Michael Jordan’s Air Jordans worn during the April 1998 game.
These two exciting sale series follow on from the glittering success in Geneva, which realised a running total of CHF 116.1 million across five live and online auctions with a final online sale closing imminently. Continuing the exceptional season of watches we had in spring, we achieved a white-glove sale for Rare Watches and CHF 30 million for the ninth edition of Only Watch in aid of research on Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Legendary wines scored high: CHF 269,500 to taste over a century of Château d’Yquem in a vertical of 107 bottles, while 3 magnums of Château Latour 1961 sold for CHF 134,750, more than double its pre-sale low estimate. The historic Marie-Antoinette diamonds shone the brightest during Magnificent Jewels, reaching CHF 7,459,000, and a Van Cleef & Arpels ruby and diamond brooch soared over 10 times its pre-sale estimate to achieve CHF 4,170,000.
