Christie’s Geneva Luxury Week totalled an excellent CHF 63,145,500 across three spectacular auctions, reaffirming our luxury auction market leadership. This biannual international event attracted over 4,000 collectors and connoisseurs to the Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues.

On 13 May, Rare Watches opened the sale series with a total of CHF 11,510,250, selling 89.1% by value. ‘The Pink Stelline’ Rolex ref. 6062 achieved the top price of the night, realising CHF 975,000, while an attractive Rolex stainless steel and pink gold ref. 3525 – once belonging to Pop Art legend Andy Warhol – soared past its pre-sale estimate to fetch CHF 471,000.

Over 700 lots came to auction on 14 May during our Fine and Rare Wines auction, making a total of CHF 3,547,859, with excellent sell-through rates of 95.3% by lot and 89% by value. Superb vintages of Côte de Nuits Burgundies from the Domaine de la Romanée-Conti starred, with 12 bottles from the 2005 vintage reaching CHF 58,800. Other highlights included a bottle of 18th century Madeira from the old Teixeira family realising CHF 9,800 – more than triple its pre-sale low estimate.

Magnificent Jewels achieved CHF 63,145,500 in total, with extraordinary pieces of royal provenance shining bright. An exquisite Harry Winston ruby and diamond ring, once belonging to a princess, realised an impressive CHF 7,198,500, while the imperial emerald of Grand Duchess Vladimir of Russia, set in a superb emerald and diamond pendent necklace, went for CHF 4,335,000. An exceptional 110 natural pearl sautoir closed the sale series, selling for CHF 5,723,000.

This season, the Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues also welcomed highlights from our New York Maharajas & Mughal Magnificence sale, to be offered on 19 June. Our dedicated exhibition offered a glimpse into this extravagant collection of royal jewels and jewelled objects, sparking many exciting conversations around the incredible Indian jewellery tradition.

Following these triumphant successes, our global Luxury departments look forward to welcoming you to our upcoming Hong Kong Spring Auctions from 24–29 May, our June London Luxury Week and during our New York Watches and Wine sales.
