Hermès Evelyne

Originally made to carry grooming tools and equipment for horses, the Hermès Evelyne evolved into one of the house's most versatile bags. Launched in 1978 and designed by the then head of Hermès’ riding department, Evelyne Bertrand, the bag features a perforated ‘H’ for ventilation and an unlined interior to keep equipment dry.

In the 2000s, the Evelyne gained popularity as a consumer handbag. Its lightweight feel and crossbody practicality made it well-suited for everyday use, without compromising on style. Now available in five sizes, the bag is most-often crafted in Clemence or Epsom leather, with a durable canvas strap. Today, the Evelyne remains rooted in Hermès’ equestrian history, defined by its function, craftsmanship and understated elegance.
