Hermès Lindy

The Hermès Lindy bag is a versatile design which combines both style and function. The bag debuted in 2007, designed by Frederic Vidal under the creative direction of Jean Paul Gaultier. Vidal found that the traditional position of a bag’s handles was often uncomfortable for the person carrying it, which inspired a break from convention with the Lindy.

The handles were instead placed on the gussets of the bag, alongside a cross-body strap. This ergonomic design supports the natural rhythm of the body and pays tribute to the dance that inspired the bag’s name — the Lindy Hop. The Hermès Lindy is available in multiple sizes, with the Mini Lindy 20 being one of the most sought-after.
