Hermès Picotin

The Hermès Picotin distils minimalist, functional design into a modern tribute to the brand's equestrian heritage. Launched in 2002, the handbag’s bucket silhouette was modelled after traditional horse-feed bags — the name 'picotin' comes from an old French term for measuring out a horse’s oats. The most coveted size is the Picotin 18, though the design is also available in 22cm and 26cm.

Created using Hermès’ Retourne technique — where a bag is stitched inside-out to achieve softened edges — the Picotin is a testament to the artisanal craftsmanship that underpins Hermès.
