Important Chinese and Asian Works of Art

Sale Overview
This autumn, Christie’s Hong Kong presents over 130 exceptional lots from distinguished collections worldwide, each with superb provenance. Highlights include a magnificent and extremely rare Ding vase carved with peonies, dating to the Southern Song dynasty. Formerly in the collection of Sir Alan and Lady Barlow, the vase boasts an extensive literature and exhibition history. Further highlights include an extremely rare Xuande celadon-glazed floral-form dish from a private Asian collection—a masterpiece of Ming celadon wares—and a Yuan dynasty blue and white ‘dragon’ bowl, reflecting the powerful artistic expression of this groundbreaking period in Chinese ceramics production. The auction is further enriched by two Joseon dynasty porcelains, underscoring the breadth of Asian artistic traditions.
