Junior Specialist | Impressionist & Modern Art

Vanessa is a Cataloguer in Christie’s Impressionist & Modern Art department in New York. She is responsible for researching and cataloguing the works in the Day and Works on Paper Sales, while supporting the department’s business-getting efforts and international sales.

In October 2015, Vanessa joined the Impressionist & Modern Art team as Expertise Coordinator, working closely with international scholars and experts in the field in managing the authentication of all property for the department’s auctions and private sales.

Vanessa earned her Bachelor of Arts degree with summa cum laude from Amherst College with a double major in European Studies and Political Science, and a focus on 20th Century French art. Prior to joining Christie’s, she received her Master’s degree in Impressionism from the University of Oxford, U.K.

Allegra Bettini

Associate Specialist, Acting Head of Day Sale | Impressionist & Modern Art

Allegra Bettini is an Associate Specialist and Acting Head of the Impressionist and Modern Day Sale. Previously, she served as Head of the Works on Paper Sale for the department. Additionally, Allegra works with clients to develop their collections and advises on consignments, acquisitions and appraisals across the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Allegra first joined Christie’s Impressionist and Modern Art department in 2012 as an Administrative Assistant. In March 2014, Allegra became a Junior Specialist responsible for cataloguing the Day and Works on Paper Sales. From 2017-2020, Allegra led the department’s eCommerce platform as Head of Online Sales, overseeing the Picasso Ceramics Online Sales, which have sold 100%-by-lot since their inception in New York. Allegra earned her Bachelor of Arts from the Johns Hopkins University with Honors and Awards in History of Art and Entrepreneurship and Management.
