A Christmas Window by Melissandre Vidal
Behind the Scenes: The Making of Christie’s Paris Christmas Window
-
Event date 17 December - 7 January -
Event location Paris
Christies celebrates the festive season with a unique window display that reveals the many facets of its artistic universe. Works of art and collectible objects come together in an evocative scenography, showcasing the breadth of fields in which the house demonstrates its expertise and heritage of excellence.
Each element is adorned with details inspired by Christmas: the frames feature winter motifs, a Christie's catalogue takes centre stage, adding a touch of magic, and some jewellery pieces become garlands adorning a white Christmas tree.
A red thread, inspired by the art installation that currently adorns the façade, runs through the composition creating a conductive pattern. Carried by small birds, it connects the shapes, guides the eye and adds a poetic dimension that accompanies the spirit of the season.
